Day 1 Xi’an Airport / Train Station Pick-up; Visit City Wall & Muslim Quarter
Cycling on Xi’an City Wall
In the morning, please take a flight or high speed train from Beijing to Xi'an by yourself and your guide will pick you up at Xi’an airport or train station based on your schedule. Then you will be escorted to downtown Xi’an to start this 2 days trip immediately.
We will visit Xi'an City Wall first, which is the best-persevered city wall in China, and you can hardly find another time-honored but unbroken one in the whole country. The city wall you see nowadays can be dated back to the Ming Dynasty (1368 – 1644 AD), lying in the center of downtown and shaped rectangular with a total length of 13.74 kilometers (8.5 miles). It is an amazing thing to stroll around the 600 years old City Wall for a glimpse of the past ancient city grandeur. In addition to seeing the ancient ramparts, you can also witness various city views within and outside the City Wall. Cycling along the wall is a good choice but you need to pay for the bike rental. Your guide will be ready to help you with that.
The next stop is the Muslim Quarter, a famous local snack street as well as the Muslim community that you cannot miss in Xi'an. Here you can taste a variety of Muslim food and local specialties like Paomo (Pita Bread with Beef/Mutton Soup), Jing Gao (Steamed Sticky Rice Cake with Nuts), Cold Noodles, and various beef and mutton BBQ. Sauntering down the flagstone streets lined with food stalls and unique specialty shops, you will be spoiled by various snack choices and experience local atmosphere to the fullest.
Today's trip ends here, and your guide will escort you to your self-booked hotel.
