Maldives Cultural Exploration

Welcome to Male, Maldives! Our guide will meet you at Velana International Airport (MLE) and then show you around the city. As a seaside city, Male is endowed with rich fish resources by which many people make a living. Accordingly, the fish market and nearby markets are good places to know locals' lifestyle, which are our first stops. Next, we will pay a visit to two beautiful Islamic buildings, President Palace and Male's Friday Mosque. The decoration and exhibits inside will help you have a better understanding about Maldives' political and religious background.

After lunch, we will set out for Guraidhoo Island, the destination of our Maldives 4 days' tour. It will take us about two hours to get there by speedboat, and you may see dolphins on the way. Upon arrival at Guraidhoo, you will be led to check in the guesthouse. Dinner will be served at a local family, and it will be a good chance to taste authentic home-cooked Maldivian food.

After breakfast, it is time to go snorkeling to discover beautiful house reefs at Guraidhoo. Don't be nervous if you are unexperienced because our tour guide will give you accessible safety training and will make sure your gear works well underwater. In addition, he or she will help you spot various creatures during the experience.

When it gets cooler in the afternoon, we are going to explore the lifestyle of Guraidhoo inhabitants. First, we will visit local mosques and the shipyard to see how the wooden boat 'Dhoni' is made. After that, the guide will leave you some time to chat with locals and see how women prepare for dinner. We will also stop by a café to try Maldivian snack 'Hedikka' with a cup of black tea. At the end of today's itinerary, we will offer you a hearty dinner.

After a Guraidhoo-style breakfast, we will take a speedboat to two most attractive coral reefs in Maldives. Put on your snorkeling gear and we will continue to explore the mysterious sea world. Apart from the colorful corals swaying in the water, you will have chances to see tropical fishes, rays, sharks and sea turtles swimming in front of you. After the snorkeling experience, we will get back to Guraidhoo.

The whole afternoon is for you to explore Guraidhoo as you like. You could take a walk along the coastline, enjoy sun bathing, or take some memorial photos against the stunning sea view. Also, you can make use of the free time to buy some souvenirs for your friends or families. According to our Maldives 4 days' itinerary, today's dinner will be a mouthwatering BBQ under the starry sky.

Time to say goodbye to Maldives. After having breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to Velana International Airport by speedboat at around 10:00 for your departure flight. We wish you a safe journey back home.
