Day 1 Arrival in Accra, Airport pick-up
Welcome to Accra! When you arrive at Kotoka International Airport (ACC), you will meet our guide who is waiting for you at the exit. If time permits, he or she will accompany you to visit University of Ghana first, then the Oxford Street, where many restaurants, bars, and African shops with souvenirs on sale. After that, you'll be transferred to the hotel for a good rest.

Day 2 Accra city tour
After breakfast in the hotel, we will go on our best Ghana tour to explore the 120-year-old Accra. With a private transfer, you'll be guided to Aburi Botanical Gardens first. It's quite exotic as the great varieties of plants are from all over the world. After, we will go to WEB Du Bois Center, which is built to honor this Pan-Africanist pioneer, who moved to and work in Ghana; and then Independence Square to commemorate the independence of Ghana. We'll also visit The Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, the final resting place of Kwame Nkrumah, who is Ghana's first president as well as the father of the country. Jamestown Community, the last stop today, is listed out of the oldest districts in Accra and known for the eye-catching lighthouse. The first lighthouse there was built in 1875 by British, but the current one was rebuilt in 1921 after the previous being damaged. At the end of the day, send you back to the hotel.

Day 3 Drive to Kumasi
Today we will head to Kumasi, the next city on our Ghana private tour as well as the second largest city around the country. It is regarded as "Garden City in Western Africa", and we are going to discover the epic legends of Ashanti Empire. After 4.5 hours' drive through the jungle, we will arrive in Kumasi. The first stop we are to visit is Manhyia Palace Museum, the royal residence of Ashanti Kings until 1974. You can see the precious collections of the Ashanti Empire in the museum. Then we will go to visit Okomfo Anokye Sword site, where the Okomfo Sword is on display. The famous Golden Stool is said to fall from the sky right down there over 300 years ago. Meanwhile, Okomfo Sword is the ultimate symbol of power of Ashanti Empire, and the empire would have fallen apart without it according to tales. Stay overnight in Kumasi.

Day 4 Visit Kumasi with surrounding craft villages
The trip continue to three craft villages in this morning. The first village Bonwire is the home to Kente Cloth, the best-known and most important cloth among all textiles made in Ghana. You can witness how the Kente are made by hand with a loom, and buy some Kente if you're interested in. At the next village of Ntonso, you can learn how to make dyestuff with tree bark. In the woodcarving village of Ahwiaa, many talented craftsmen make royal stools, walking sticks and so on with wood there. The wooden carved souvenirs are popular among visitors.
In the afternoon, we are to visit Kumasi Central Market, aka Kejetia Market. It's the grandest open market in western Africa, with more than 10,000 vendors and a wide variety of commodities.

Day 5 Drive to Cape Coast
Make a 4-hour drive to Cape Coast. On the way, we will stopover in Assin Manso to visit the 'Slave River', where the captured Negro slaves were bathed before being held in slave castles and sent to America and Caribbean Area. Around the noon, we will get to Cape Coast, and go to see Cape Coast Castle. As one of the starting points of Negro slave transport, Cape Coast Castle is an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Stay one night in Cape Coast.

Day 6 Visit the Kakum National Park, Departure from Accra
On the last day of the tour, we will visit Kakum National Park first, one of the most famous parks in Ghana. Various birds, over 500 species of butterflies, over 40 kinds of mammals like monkeys and elephants inhabit there. We will go on a short hiking in the park, along a 330 meters (360 yards) long canopy walkway, which is 98 feet above the ground. We will return to Accra in this afternoon, and have a stopover at village of Abandze, the hometown of American jazzman Louis Armstrong en route.
Getting back to Accra, you'll get a transfer to the airport. Wish you a smooth journey home!
