Highlights in Cyprus

Welcome to Cyprus, a scenic Mediterranean Island with abundant historical relics! Once upon your arrival at Larnaca International Airport, our local guide will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel in Paphos we carefully selected for you. On the way, he or she will give a brief introduction about Cyprus and this itinerary. If you have any doubts, feel free to consult the guide. After helping you check into the hotel, the guide will say goodbye, and leave the rest time of the day for you to take a break or get familiar with the city on your own.

Activities Suggestion: We recommended you to hire a taxi to Aphrodite’s Rock. It is said to be the birthplace of the goddess of love, Aphrodite in Greek myths. It is also a great site to appreciate the amazing sea views. Another recommended site is the Tombs of the Kings carved out of rocks. Currently, about 100 tombs of ancient nobles and high-rank officials have been discovered there.

After having breakfast in the hotel, the guide will pick you up and drive to visit several attractions on Troodos Mountains. It occupies one third of the whole Cyprus and dotted with many ancient mosques and churches.

The first stop will be a beautiful village on the mountain slope - Omodos. It is famous for making wine. We will walk through the cobbled streets to the village square, where there are many stores selling wine and other local products. Our next stop will be Kykkos Monastery, where you will find many delicate mosaic pictures and the golden portrait of the Virgin Mary. Next we will proceed to the Monastery of Chrysoroyatissa, which is situated in a picturesque location near the Village of Panagia, just west of the Forest of Paphos.

After the visit, the guide will transfer you back to the hotel in Paphos.

This morning, you will be transferred to Limassol to visit the Sanctuary of Apollon Hylates, which was an important religious center and underwent many extensions and alterations in different periods. After that, move on to visit the Kolossi Castle. It is a military architecture, and in the 14th century came under the domain of the Knights Templar. Going inside, you can still see the murals and spiral stairs from the Middle Ages. It is the best-preserved Medieval castle in Cyprus.

When today’s sightseeing ends here, the guide will escort you to a local hotel and help you check in.

After breakfast, drive to the capital of Cyprus - Nicosia. On arrival, go directly to visit the Cypriot Museum, the oldest and largest archaeological museum in the island country. Next, pay a visit to St. John's Cathedral which is a typical Greek orthodox church built in 14th century. And then, we will visit the Byzantine Museum. It collects numerous Byzantine artworks, including icons, sacred vessels, paintings and books. Tonight, stay in a hotel in Nicosia.

After breakfast, drive for about 1 hour to Famagusta to visit the St. Barnabas Monastery which is now an icon museum and the tomb of St. Varnabas. Then, proceed to the ancient city of Salamis famous for a large Roman amphitheater. Next, travel to Othello’s Tower, where Shakespeare was inspired to write his famous play “Othello”. This tour will then continue with a visit to the ghost town of Famagusta. Once a famous holiday resort, it is now an empty town due to political issues. At last, the guide will transfer you to the hotel in Larnaca.

Today’s destination will be Paphos and we will stay overnight there. On the way, make a stop at the Edro III Shipwreck and sea caves to take some beautiful photos. We will also pull over at a local winery to taste local wine and visit Bath of Aphrodite in a rock cave. Then we will head to Latchi and change to a boat to admire the crystal clear and quiet Blue Lagoon. The boat cruise will last for about 2 hours. After the cruise, transfer you to the hotel in Paphos.
