Day 1 Arrival in Managua, Airport Pick-up
Welcome to Managua, the Capital of Nicaragua. Upon arrival, you will be picked up from the airport and transferred to the hotel.

Day 2 Visit the Managua City, Transfer to León and Have a Walking Tour
After breakfast, we will start sightseeing from the Tiscapa Crater Lake. Around the lake, there are several pre-Columbian remains and you will also find it a good place to overlook the Managua city. Next, head to the historical part of the city, where the National Museum and some antique buildings are located. Before lunch, enjoy some relaxing time at the lakefront.
In the afternoon, we will drive 1.3 hours to León and have a walking tour at the León Viejo, also named the Old León, which is the remains of the Spanish colonial settlement. Due to frequent natural disasters, the ancient inhabitants moved out and rebuilt the city León at the present location. Now in the old city, you can see the foundations of the houses and the restored main buildings. Before transferring you back to the hotel, we will climb a hill in the city to overlook the view around.

Day 3 Half-day León City Trip on Foot
In the morning, we will visit the León city area on foot. León used to be the capital of Nicaragua. Walking in the city, you will see colonial style houses, churches, museums and local markets. Today’s highlight is the León Cathedral and the Ortiz Gurdian Museum. You will climb to the top of the León Cathedral and appreciate the city view.

Day 4 Transfer to Matagalpa via San Jacinto
Today we will drive to Matagalpa. On the way, you will visit the San Jacinto Mudfields to watch the volcano mud bubbling. Upon arrival, you will check into the hotel.

Day 5 Half-day Coffee Tour
In Nicaragua, coffee cultivation and production form the important part of its culture. The coffee here stands out for its unique flavor. Today we will visit the Aguas del Arenal to see how coffee is produced and how it influences the life and living of local people. Morning is free on your own. At noon, we will head to the Aguas del Arenal, where you will visit the coffee plantation and taste local coffee. You will also have some free time to explore the surrounding on your own. Transfer back to your hotel in the end.

Day 6 Transfer to Granada, Stop at Masaya
Today we will drive you to Granada. On the way, we will stop at Masaya and go to the Masaya volcano first. In this active volcano, you can see boiling lava which is compared to “molten gold”. Then go to the artisan market in the town where various handcrafts are exhibited for sale. After having lunch at the Catarina viewpoint, you will visit the surrounding villages. The most famous one is the San Juan de Oriente, which you can gain knowledge of the traditional artifacts from the craftsmen. Then continue to Granada and transfer you to the hotel.

Day 7 Explore the Granada city, Take a Boat Trip at Las Isletas
This morning, you will take a horse-drawn carriage to travel around the Granada historical area. The first destinations are San Francisco Convent and La Merced church. Climb to the top of the bell tower to overlook the whole city. After visiting Xalteva church and the old city walls, your guide will recommend several reputed restaurants. Have lunch at your own expense.
In the afternoon, you will have a boat tour to explore the Las Isletas archipelago. Day 8 Visit the Mombacho Volcano, Transfer to Isla de Ometepe
Get up early in the morning, we will head to the Mombacho Volcano, which is surrounded by thick cloud forest. It is home to plenty of animals, including the howler monkeys, white-faced monkeys, sloths, dart frogs, and the endemic Mombacho salamander. On the way to the top, stop at a coffee plantation to taste local coffee. A mild hiking will be included in this trip, so make sure you wear a pair of comfortable shoes. After that, you will be driven to San Jorge, where you will take a ferry to reach Isla de Ometepe. Upon arrival, check into the hotel.

Day 9 Hike to the San Ramón Waterfall
Today you will be transferred to the Maderas Volcano first. Upon arrival, we will set off to the San Ramon Waterfall. The one-way hiking takes around 2 hours. Along the way, you can see different kinds of plants, monkeys jumping in the forest and hear the birds chanting. Immerse yourself in the clear, cool water, which will surely refresh you. Finally, we will drive you back to the hotel.

Day 10 Transfer to San Juan del Sur
Take a boat back to San Jorge. Then we will drive to San Juan del Sur. This coastal city is famous for its charming, quiet beach and is the perfect place to enjoy sunshine and outdoor activities. The next two days will be totally free on your own. You may go swimming, sailing and snorkeling or just lie on beach to enjoy the sunshine.
