Day 1 Arrival in Accra, Airport pick-up
Welcome to Accra! On your arrival at Kotoka International Airport (ACC), our guide waiting at the exit will give you a warm greeting, and send you to the hotel.

Day 2 Accra city tour
We are going to explore Accra and the places outside the city. We will go to Independence Square, and then the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, where the first president of Ghana was buried. Next to the park, National Cultural Center is there with gorgeous western African handicrafts on sale. It is the largest outdoor handicraft market in Ghana. Afterwards, we will continue the Ghana family packages to visit James Town, one of the oldest historical district in Accra area. You can find quite a few old things in the town, and the most famous is the lighthouse built in 1875 by British. Although it was destroyed, a bigger one was completed in 1921 and is still in use nowadays. Lastly, we will go to Teshie Nungua, to visit the local coffin workshop. The "Fantasy Coffins" of Teshie Nungua are carved in various shapes, reported in National Geographic, and can be seen in museums and art galleries around the world.

Day 3 Visit the Shai Hills Reserve, Drive to Akosombo
Head to Ho, and have a visit to Shai Hills Reserve firstly. You will get a chance to see varieties of African wildlife, such as antelopes, bushbucks, baboons and many kinds of birds. Shai Hills is the hometown of Krobo ethnic group, thereby you will see some relics unearthed in the reserve. Also, based on your strength, you can choose three caves to visit, which are historically important for Krobos and other tribes there.

Continue our journey and go to Akosombo, where we are to see Volta Lake and Akosombo Dam. The dam construction lead to the water flooded in Volta River Basin, as a consequence, Lake Volta appeared. It is the largest man-made lake worldwide, accounting for 3.6% of Ghana's total area.

Day 4 Drive to Nkwanta
On the following Ghana family tour, we will go towards Nkwanta. On the way, stop over to visit Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary. The jungle, survived from wildfires and factitious destructions, has been the sanctuary of Mona and Patas monkeys, a kind of holy creature for locals. We will have a stopover at the breathtaking Wli Waterfalls. It is the highest and largest waterfall in Ghana, as the cool water flows down from a height of 80 feet and divides into two parts. On the trip to Wli Waterfalls, we have to trek through the thick Agumatsa Forest Reserve. Finally we will get to Nkwanta in the evening, check in and have an overnight rest.

Day 5 Drive to Tamale
After breakfast, we will drive to Tamale. Crossing Kyabobo National Park, we will reach Shari Village at the foot of Mount Djbobo. Isolated from other civilizations, the villagers of Shari are all the African traditionists. You may talk with the villagers. Then we will continue driving until we arrive in Tamale.

Day 6 Visit Bolgatanga, Drive to Mole National Park
Go further north to Bolgatanga. Reaching Tongo, we will stop to visit the chief's palace. You will experience the local traditional welcome ceremony there. To Paga, you can try the crocodile ride, which is definitely unforgettable of your lifetime. Crocodiles are worshipped fetish at local, and get along well with the villagers.

In the afternoon, we will return to Tamale, and afterwards visit Tamale Cultural Centre and Central Market. Then we will also go to Larabanga, where to see Larabanga Mosque and the mystery stone. Larabanga Mosque, one of the oldest mosques in western Africa, is honored to be "Mecca of West Africa". Later, drive to Mole National Park. If time permits, you could enjoy an evening safari trek on arrival.

Day 7 Mole National Park day tour
Enjoy a drive safari this morning, which would be a highlight of the 12 days Ghana family packages. Mole is the largest wildlife sanctuary, as over 200 spices of birds, colorful butterflies and various rare reptiles inhabit there. Escorted by an experienced safari guide, you will meet untamed but friendly animals, such as African bush elephants, African buffalos, hyenas, roan antelopes, and Vervet monkeys. By the afternoon, we will move on to Mognori Eco-Village, only 15 km (9.3 mi) away from Mole National Park. You can walk around the village, to see drumming and dancing performance or take a canoe safari on the Mole River.

Day 8 Depart to Kumasi
On the way to the next destination Kumasi, we will get a short stopover at Kintampo Water Falls. When we arrive in Kumasi, pay a visit to the Central Market, a major trading center where the merchants from all over the country gather together. If time allows, we would also go to see Okomfo Anokye Sword, the symbol of Ashanti's unification. It is said that the Golden Stool dropped from the sky right there about 300 years ago. And the legend says, if the sword get moved, Ashanti Kingdom would fall apart.

Day 9 Kumasi day trip
Visit Manhyia Palace, the official residence of Ashanti Kings until 1974. Now it is a museum, with valuable relics of Ashanti Kingdom on show. Afterwards, we will cross the downtown by car, to see the monument to commemorate Ashanti people. Then we will also visit National Cultural Center, Prempeh II Jubilee Museum and many workshops of ceramists, coppersmiths and batik artisans. You will also have an opportunity to visit the woodcarving village Ahwiaa and Kente cloth weaving village Bonwire. If you are interested in the handicrafts, you can ask the craftsmen and buy some directly.

Day 10 Drive to Elmina
Go to Cape Coast, a region played an important role for Africans spillover. Passing some small villages, we will get to Assin Manso. Two former slaves returned from Jamaica and USA respectively were buried there, and their remains were resettled during the first Emancipation Day Celebration in August, 1998. We will visit "Slave River", where the black slaves got their last bath before captivity and transport to America.

On the tour in Elmina, we will go on a visit to Elmina Castle, aka St. George's Castle. It is the first European architecture constructed in sub-Saharan Africa, right above the colorful harbor. As many canoes scatter all over the harbor, it becomes one of the best sites for photography.

Day 11 Visit the Kakum National Park
Drive to Kakum National Park, one of a few surviving rainforests in West Africa. It is the home to over 40 spices of large mammals, over 400 kinds of birds, butterflies, flora and fauna. The best-known site in the park is the Canopy Walkway, a draw bridge that has a total length of 330m (361 yd) in the jungle. You can choose to take a 2km (1.2 mi) nature walk, to discover the rare flowers and herbs; or hike via the canopy walkway with the forest guide. After returning to the hotel, enjoy yourselves for the rest of the time.

Day 12 Departure from Accra, Airport see-off
Go back to Accra. Before that, we will visit Cape Coast Castle, another UNESCO heritage as well as the largest former slave castle in Ghana. Getting to Accra, you can do some shopping at Osu Market, to pick some souvenirs. After that, you will be transferred to Accra airport for your onward flight.
