Day 1 Arrival in Entebbe, Airport pick-up
Welcome to join this 14-day Uganda gorilla trekking tours with us! Our driver guide will pick you up on time at Entebbe International Airport, and then send you to the hotel in Kampala. The 40 km (24 mi) journey will take around 40-50 minutes.

Day 2 Birding in Mabamba Swamp & Transfer to Masindi afternoon
Today we will drive to Mabamba Swamp in western Kampala to start our birdwatching tour. Take a canoe along the narrow waterway and you'll have the chance to see birds like Lesser Jacana, black-shouldered kite, blue swallow, and even the endangered shoebill stork. After lunch, we will drive to Masindi Town for about 4 hours on the way.

Day 3 Birding experience, Head for Murchison Falls National Park
Today, we will watch birds at the nearby Budongo Forest. There are over 20 species of birds in this forest, such as Sabine's and graceful Cassin's Spinetail, mixed Habitats, Nahan's Francolin. If you're lucky, you'll also see primates like colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys and blue monkeys. Then we will walk along the Albertine cliffs to observe the birds. Finally, drive about 1.5 hours to Murchison Falls National Park for dinner and stay overnight.

Day 4 Private birding tour in Delta area, Transfer back to Masindi
Early in the morning, we will take a boat to the Delta Area of Murchison Falls National Park to watch the birds. Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda's largest park and is home to a variety of birds. There are as many as 451 species of birds inhabited in the area, making it popular among tourists. You can see the world's largest Goliath Heron, Uganda's national bird Crowned Cranes, Weaver Birds, Squacco Heron, and even the rare bird species like Shoebill stork.
The scenery here is very charming. With the morning breeze, you can enjoy the wild beauty of the African savannah and have the chance to encounter some wild animals such as elephants, buffaloes and lions. Next, we’ll head to the top of the waterfall for sightseeing and birdwatching. Finally, we’ll drive back to Masindi Town for about 1.5 hours.

Day 5 Drive to Kibale National Park (265km, 5hs driving) & Enjoy birding on the way
Today's itinerary of Uganda gorilla trekking is to take a car to Kibale National Park. You can admire the beautiful villages and towns along the way. As an extension of Kibale National Park, visitors can observe a wide variety of birds in the Sebitoli Forest. Then we’ll drive through the lush Fort Portal Green Tea Estate and the third-highest mountains in Africa, 5,109 meters (16,762 ft.) high Rwenzori Mountains. Finally, we'll arrive in Kibale to rest and have dinner.

Day 6 Birding and Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale National Park
This morning, you'll be watching birds in Kibale National Park and have chances to see over 20 kinds of birds including the Yellow Spotted Nicator, Crowned Eagle, Afep Pigeon. In the afternoon, we'll arrange the chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park since it is also known as the primate capital of the world. After attending a briefing at 2:00 p.m., the park ranger will accompany you to look for gorillas in the forest. Once you find them, you'll only have an hour to watch them eating, hunting, and mating. Afterwards, we will drive back to Fort Portal for rest.

Day 7 Drive to Semliki, Birding and go back to Fort Portal
After having breakfast, we will drive for 1.5 hours (78 km) to Semliki Forest National Park. You can watch many kinds of birds like Bate's Nightjar,Black-throated Coucal, Yellow-throated Cuckoo, and Congo Serpent Eagle. Later, we will return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 8 Private transfer to Queen Elizabeth and Birding in the savannah
Today we plan to go to Queen Elizabeth National Park by car, which will take around 1.5 hours with 60 km (37 mi) on the way. The Savannah and Kazinga Channel are good places to watch birds. Here we can see over 600 species of birds like Lappet Faced Vultures,Martial Eagle,Temminck's Courser. Also, there are high chances to see wildlife like elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, and antelopes. Later we will go back to the lodge. You can enjoy the rest of the day freely.

Day 9 Leave for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park & Birding
Today, we are heading to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, 160 km (99 mi) away from Buhoma. When we pass through Ishasha, south of Queen Elizabeth National Park, you'll have a chance to see lions living on fig trees. It's a local feature: the low, curved branches of the fig tree not only provide a place for lions to rest, but also a better view to hunt. On the way of driving, you will also have the opportunity to see a variety of unique birds on the African savanna, such as African white-backed Vulture, Martial Eagle, and Brown Snake Eagle. Finally, we'll drive to Bwindi. In the evening, we can watch birds along the edge of the Bwindi forest.

Day 10 Birding in Buhoma and relax in the afternoon
In the morning, we will take a car to Buhoma forest to start birdwatching. You can find Ashy Flycatcher, Cinnamon-chested Bee-eater, slender billed starling, etc. around the waterfall. Afterwards, we will go back to the lodge. The afternoon time is free on your own.

Day 11 Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi and drive to Ruhija
In the morning, we'll first meet at Ruhija Park Headquarters where the staff will give us a simple training and introduction about Uganda gorilla trekking tours. Then we'll follow the park rangers through Bwindi Forest. The Bwindi Forest Park is scattered with valleys, swamps, steep slopes and you can hear birds' beautiful singing in the jungle. When you find gorillas, you can watch them eating and playing in the habitat. These gorillas are friendly to humans and you can take as many pictures as you want during1-hour tour with them. After that, we will drive back to Ruhija.

Day 12 Birding in Ruhija, Continue to Umubwindi Swamp
Ruhija of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a paradise for birdwatchers, so today we are going there. There are Streaky seed-Eaters, Western Bronze Naped Pigoen, Augar Buzzard and dozens of other birds you can see. The extension of the Umubwindi Swamp is an excellent spot to watch birds, where you can watch Mountain Greenbul, yellow-eyed Black Flycatcher, Olive, and more birds.

Day 13 Drive to Lake Mburo, Afternoon birding in the savannah
This morning, we will take a car to the Lake Mburo National Park through a scenic hillside in south-west Uganda. Have lunch at the lodge, and then we will watch birds in the afternoon on the African savannah. We will arrange for you to watch acacia associated birds, including Tabora Cisticola and Mburo's endemic Red-faced Barbet, etc. You can also see other wild animals in the park, such as the Topis, Rothschild Giraffes and zebras.

Day 14 Birding boat ride on Lake Mburo, Transfer to Entebbe for flight departure
In the early morning, we will take a boat touring around Lake Mburo and you might see African fish eagle, Kingfishers, African finfoot and so on. Afterwards, we will leave for Entebbe International Airport with 4 hours (225 km) on the way to catch your flight back home. Your tour of Uganda gorilla trekking comes to an end here and hope you enjoy the trip!
