► Itinerary: 3 days cycling tour of Chengdu - Jianyang - Lezhi - Anyue - Tongliang - Chongqing
Chongqing is located 350 kilometers (217 miles) southeast of Chengdu and it takes around 32 hours in total to ride between the two cities. Below is a 3 days cycling itinerary, which is also suitable for first-time cyclists. If you're an experienced cyclist, you can stay overnight in Anyue and finish this tour within 2 days.
Schedule: Today, you will set off from Chengdu and ride southwest along the national highway G318. On the way, you will pass the Longquan Mountain, which is 1,051 meters (3,448 feet) high. After around 6.5 hours, you will arrive in Jianyang City, where you can have today's lunch and take a short rest. In the afternoon, you will continue to ride along the national highway G318 to Lezhi County, where you can stay for one night.
Suggested riding time: 07:00 - 13:30, 6.5 hours; 14:30 - 20:00, 5.5 hours.
Riding distance: 128 kilometers (80 miles).
Schedule: In the morning, you will ride along the national highway G319 for around 4.5 hours to Anyue. After the lunch and a short rest here, you can continue to ride for around 8.5 hours to Tongliang District, which means you have already entered Chongqing. The journey tomorrow will be a little bit easier, so you can have a good rest tonight.

Day 02: Emeishan - Jinkouhe
Schedule: Today, you will continue to ride southwest. After riding for around 8 kilometers (5 miles), you will get on the national highway G245 and then ride along this highway for around 83 kilometers (52 miles) to Jinkouhe District, where you will stay the night. On the way, you will pass by Mt. Emei and ride along the Dadu River for a while.
Suggested riding time: 09:00 - 12:00, 3 hours; 13:30 - 19:00, 5.5 hours.
Riding distance: 91 kilometers (57 miles)
Friendly Tip: Today's trip is relatively short, so you're suggested to sleep early to get ready for the next few days' journey.
Day 03: Jinkouhe - Yuexi
Schedule: Today, you're suggested to get up early and set off at 06:00. You will continue to ride along the national highway G245 to Yuexi county. Along the way, there are several towns and villages, where you could stop to have lunch or take a short break.
Suggested riding time: 06:00 - 12:00, 6 hours; 13:00 - 21:00, 8 hours.
Riding distance: 149 kilometers (93 miles)
Day 04: Yuexi - Xichang
Schedule: Today, you will drive southwest for around 11 hours to Xichang and you can have a rest in Mianshan Town on the halfway.
Suggested riding time: 08:00 - 13:00, 5 hours; 14:00 - 20:00, 6 hours.
Riding distance: 120 kilometers (75 miles)
Friendly Tip: Qionghai Lushan Scenic Area is only 40 minutes' ride by bicycle from Xichang city. You can leave one day here to explore the beauties of Xichang, such as climbing the Lushan Mountain and boating in the Qionghai Lake. For your information, the admission ticket is CNY30 per person.
Day 05: Xichang - Pingchuan
Schedule: Today's journey will be relatively easy. You will ride for around 7 hours, over Mt. Panmo to Pingchuan. Along the way, you will pass by several towns, like Sibao and Jinhe, where you could stop to have a short rest.
Suggested riding time: 9:00 - 12:00, 3 hours; 13:00 - 17:00, 4 hours.

Day 06: Pingchuan - Yanyuan

Day 07: Yanyuan - Lugu Lake Town
Schedule: Today, you will first ride along the national highway G227 for around 26 kilometers (16 miles) and then transfer to the provincial highway S307 to Lugu Lake town, where you could stay for 1 or 2 nights. On the way, you can enjoy your lunch in Jiami town, which is 6 hours' ride from Yanyuan county. It's going to be a hilly road from Yanyuan to Lugu Lake town, so you need to be careful along the way.
