Day 9 Petra visit & Wadi Rum
The mysterious Petra we will tour today once served as the capital of the Nabataean Kingdom and its buildings were entirely carved on the rocks. The city also enjoys the reputation of "city of rose" as the rocks here have a coral-jewel-like reddish hue. First, we will arrive at Siq (Sike Canyon) which is a natural narrow valley path by riding horse. Then we will head towards the Kazini Temple in the core of the ancient city along the wondering Siq. Famed as Treasure, the temple carved on the mountains was said to be the place where pirates hided their jewels. Along the main street, you can visit other ruins in the ancient city such as Royal Tombs, Roman Theater and Qasr al-Bint. In the early afternoon, we will drive for about 1.5 hours to Wadi Rum for a desert jeep tour. Wadi Rum with burgundy sands and strange mountains similar to the moon craters shows the most spectacular desert landscape in Jordan. There's no doubt that it is the one of the most beautiful attractions in the Israel Jordan tours. What's more, we may enjoy stunning sunset if weather permits. We will stay in the campsite inside the desert for one night.
