Procedure of Application at CVASC

1. Complete the visa application form online and print it out.
2. Make online appointment for your submission of application.
3. Obtain queue number upon arrival at the center, submit your application when your number is called and pay the fees.
4. Pick up your passport on the scheduled collection day.
5. If you apply for the mail back service, you need to fill the Payment Authorization Form (which can be downloaded from Center's web). Pay the postal fee afterward and leave your mail address.

Note: All applicants aged 14-70 are required to submit the application in person.

Notes:
1. The regular processing time is 4 working days; express service takes 3 working days. For urgent cases, the express service is available for applicants who submit their applications directly to the center before 12:00 at noon, Monday to Friday. The processing time of CVASC in Belfast is 5-8 working days.
2. The Belfast branch only accepts debt cards while other CVASCs in UK accept cash and debit cards. .
3. Group visas will be ready for collection 5 working days after submission, and no express service is available.

Consular legalization is available at the Chinese visa center.

Plan to visit China in mid August 2023 for 2 weeks (destinations are Guangzhou & Hong Kong)

4 adults holding British passport & 2 adults holding Malaysia passport
2 children aged 5 & 2 holding British passport
Do we have to buy the return air tickets first as proof before we apply for the entry visa
Do the children need to turn up in person at the visa office on the day of application
Passport fee for UK citizens is £151 & Malaysian £86

1. Usually, round-trip air tickets and hotel orders are needed.
2. Children unders 14 years do not need to show up in person.
3. If you apply in UK, a single entry costs £151 for UK citizens and & £94 for Malaysian citizens.

Expiry and use

If I apply for a 90 day tourist visa, when does the 90 days start from.

The date of the approval or the date we arrive in China.

If from date of approval, how long between approval and arriving in China do you have.

Ie we are travelling on 23rd November and want to know what date to apply for the visa giving us the mist time to complete booking all our train connections etc.

I think you are talking about the validity of the visa. Its validity starts from the time of approval and usually, the validity of a single entry is usually 3 months, which means you have 3 months between approval and arriving in China.

There is also duration of stay, which is the longest time you are allowed to stay in China. A single-entry tourist visa is usually 30 days.

FYI, it is suggested to apply for the visa 1-2 months before going to China.

Chinese Visa

To obtain the visa, do I have to make an appointment to submit a visa application, then go home and wait. And then go back a second time to pick up the visa? Because it is a 170 mile round trip. Can I pick up the visa the same day as submitting the application?

My wife applied today and will pick her passport up on Tuesday, you can have it posted back

Yes, you have to make an appointment to lodge the submission.
As for collection, you don't have to show up in person; you can use the mail-back service at additional cost.

Need help with bringing our daughter to China this summer!!

I am a British Citizen married to Chinese Wife, we been stranded in England since 2020, I am currently employed by my Chinese college since 2017, currently In the process of applying for my Chinese work Visa, I also need to bring our Child to China (mother is Chinese). Seems we been told many things about how to bring our child to China, 1. as a dependant on my work Visa, 2. special passport 3. my wife will apply for our daughter . Any info would be great.

I think it depends on the passport your daughter holds. If it is a British passport, then it is suggested to apply for a Family Reunion Visa (Q visa).
