From Baiyun Airport, you can take an airport bus to Qingyuan. The bus departs every 90-120 minutes from 09:20-21:20. Upon arrival, hire a cab to the scenic area.

As for hotel, you may either stay around the scenic area or in Qingyuan downtown. There are more choices in downtown. You can make the decision basedo n your preference.

It is a pedestrian street, so the driver can only drop you off at one of the entrances. It also depends on where exactly are you going, so the driver can drop you off to the closest entrance.

Only stops immediately before and after the transit area matters, so your route will be Cairo - Guangzhou - HK. It will be eligible if you travel by ferry from Guangdong (including Guangzhou and Shenzhen) to HK; also, you need to have the ferry ticket in hand when landing in Guangzhou and leave exactly by that ferry to HK.

I'm afraid yes. You have to apply for a Chinese visa in advance.
