What is the Official Currency in Qatar? Is USD Acceptable?
The Qatari riyal (QAR) is the official currency of Qatar. The banknotes are 1, 5, 10, 50, 100, 200 and 500 riyal; the coins are 1, 5, 10, 25 and 50 Dirhams. One riyal equals to 100 Dirhams. USD is acceptable in some hotels, restaurants and big shopping malls, but most of the transactions accept Qatari riyal only.
