I just got back from my Thailand trip, and I loved it. This was my first time using this travel agency, so I was skeptical as I had planned this trip a year in advance. Wendy was excellent in answering all my questions and arranging my changes. Of course, I had many changes, but Wendy kept up with me and made excellent recommendations. The only improvement I would like is the payment process. Since it was my first time, I was hesitant to wire funds. Wendy was great, and I could pay with my credit card, which added a small fee to the total. I'm so happy with them that I'm planning my second trip.

The trip was very well organized and very thorough. We saw and did so much! The pace was a bit tiring, it would have been nice to have some downtime in the middle of the tour, but I don’t think there is anything I would have wanted to miss!

Emily from Agate Travel prepared our 14 day tour of Mongolia. This was one of the best trips I have ever taken. The country is absolutely beautiful. The views are endless and the people are so kind. Our tour guide Bogi, was so pleasant, patient and fun. She was with us throughout our trip and made sure we were all comfortable. Our drivers all 9, were just great! We felt safe in their hands as most of the drive was off-road. There are no sign or gps but the drivers definitely knew the way. I would highly recommend this company. They truly take care of their clients.

We had a fantastic trip to China and visited a number of cities. Travel China Guide could have been a bit more organised in terms of providing airline and railway tickets in a timely manner and in both the English and Chinese version. We travelled with 3 kids and found that they could have done a better job at advising us and planning the itinerary, routes and flights. Our flight to Xian left close to midnight and a day of sight seeing was planned for early the next day with only a day and a half in that particular city. That did not work too well with the kids!
On the whole our trip went really well and, apart from our hotel in Yangshuo, all other hotels were good and had a decent mix of Chinese and Western breakfast options.
The guides during our trip were all extremely helpful, well informed and fun to be with. In particular, Kevin in Guilin/ Yangshuo and LJ in Zhangjiajie, were fantastic! They were very accommodating, knowledgeable and excellent with our kids and made our trip even more interesting and enjoyable. Thank you Kevin and LJ!
On the whole, Travel China Guide did an excellent job and we're very happy with the service. China was a great vacation for our family with a good mix of culture, history, city life and natural beauty!

Seoul tour was excellent! Esther our tour guide and Mr. Kim our bus driver were very nice and friendly. Not only did I experience Seoul as a beautiful modern and very clean city but I was immersed into its history, lifestyle, food etc. which helped me better understand Korean culture. The visit to the DMZ and learning about the Korean War was very sobering indeed. Visiting all the historical places especially during the Joseon dynasty was a testament to South Korea’s traditions and resiliency as a nation. The food was excellent- couldn’t get enough of it. Esther was very professional and well-versed on topics that we asked about. The last day we all played a game in the bus with each one describing the highlight of their Seoul tour and/or singing a song afterwards. It was both fun and hilarious! Once again, we trusted our vacation planning to Agate Travel. This time to Jordan. We did a fully customized private tour covering Amman, Petra, Wadi Rum, Aqaba, and the Dead Sea.
Our planning started with our excellent travel consultant, Emily Xin. This is the second trip that Emily coordinated for us and once more she delivered way above and beyond. Emily Xin answered all emails promptly. I took 2 of the itineraries offered in Agate’s Jordan web page and worked with Emily to fully customize them and add extra days in Petra, Amman, and the Dead Sea. I worked with Emily to evaluate all hotel options they recommend where we upgraded the hotel choice in Amman and Aqaba. Best decision we made as the hotels were excellent with good restaurant, facilities and location. In Wadi Rum, Emily helped us reserve a Martian Tent at Sun City Camp. A very unique experience which must not be missed while in Jordan. Interestingly enough the prices that Agate Travel was able to get for our hotels was much better than if we reserved the same hotels on our own.
Agate Travel once more shows that they choose only the best local partner to work with for reserving activities, hotels, and one of Agate Travel’s number one advantage when booking trips with them, the private drivers and guides. Agate’s local partner hired for us the best private driver we could have hoped for during our 13 days stay, Moawiah. He felt like having an old friend in Jordan who takes you around to get to know his country and culture. The only difference is that you are paying for his services which were very well worth the price, as always with Agate Travel. Moawiah always looked out for our safety and to make sure we were enjoying our time in Jordan. Even during an incident when I had upset stomach, he found a local pharmacy he trusts in Amman and a pharmacist he knows to assisted us in getting medications to relieve our symptoms. Being a licensed physician in my country, I knew precisely what I needed and the pharmacist was able to get it for us. He choose good restaurants in order for us to try Jordan’s distinctive dishes. When we return to Jordan, we hope we can once more count on Moahwiah’s excellent services as a driver. He is the best driver we could have had in Jordan.
We visited Um Qais, As Salt, various crusader castles, Madaba and St George’s Church with its mosaic map of the Cristian Holy Land, the place of Baptism of Jesus, Jerash, Petra, Wadi Rum with a desert safari with a Bedouin guide and star gazing with astronomers at night, and relaxing time in Aqaba and the Dead Sea. We added with Emily Xin’s help extra activities like a street food tour in Amman, a cooking class in Petra with a professional chef, and home cooked dinner with a local Jordanian family in Wadi Musa. We would repeat each of these experiences without thinking about it twice.
Once more, I want to thank Agate Travel and our excellent consultant, Emily Xin. I also want to thank the excellent services of Agate’s local Jordanian partner, and Moawiah’s excellent services as our driver. Also, I want to thank each of the spot local guides. This was an awesome trip. I have been trying to go to Mongolia since 2020, and I finally got to do this now. Emily has been really good with my request to holding on to the tour that I have booked in 2020, as I had no intention in refunding what I paid as I had high hopes that eventually the 2020 incident would settle down so we can all travel again like before 2020. My tour guide and driver were great, and they showed me a great time. I got to go to the Nadaam festival (missed the wrestling event due to crazy traffic in Ulaanbaatar because of the festival after we saw the show, archery, horse race, and so on in the beginning of my stay in Mongolia, but later on the next week during the road trip, we stumbled on a town that happen to hold a wrestling event so I got lucky :), got to see wild and domestic animals, get a glimpse of the nomadic lifestyle, visit the beautiful Gobi Desert, and so much more. I wish I could upload some photos, but my phone is driving me crazy LOL. Anyways, I would highly recommend this tour company as they have been very good in taking care of me and everything.

I consulted Travel China Guide for my 2nd Asian tour (my 1st in 2018 was impressive), I gave them my requirements for an adventurous trip. Emily Xin became my extraordinaire consultant, she answered all my questions and concerns, in a prompt manner considering the distance between USA and China. Her patience never wore out, she fine tuned our 14 Days Mongolia tour. Little did I know I would have 32 families and friends that were as interested of my choices and what Emily offered. We all signed up with unknown expectations except what little we read on social media. We were anxious about food, desert comfort compromises but we ended up winners as the tour offered the best service as best they can in an environment where resources are not as readily available compared to urban settings. Food was catered to local and European taste and surprisingly delicious.
We were in a 9 caravan Lexus 4x4 vans that withstand the rigors of off-roading, our drivers were excellent in maneuvering the elements of the Gobi desert, we were in safety hands and enjoyed every bumps and grinds of the non-road roads.
I highly recommend this adventurous tour that included Naadaam festivals, mountains, steppes, rivers, meadows, sand dunes, waterfalls, flower blooms, hiking, hot springs, camel riding, horseback riding, wild horses, herds of cows, sheep, goats, camels, grazing and coexisting in the vast lands of Mongolia.

We were picked up by our travel guide, Celine Yang and driver, Mr. Jiang at Courtyard Marriott at 730am Thursday, 22 June 2023. It was a Dragon Boat Festival holiday, so our travel agent expects a busy travel week. The vehicle, a Buick mini van is clean and comfortable. The weather that day was at high of 35 deg C, plenty of bottled waters provided and the car air conditioner is cold enough to withstand the heat. The time from hotel to the Terracotta Museum was a bit over an hour. The early pick up actually had avoided us the traffic jam and arriving museum just in time of the opening. On the road, Celine gave us a short introduction to Xi'an and the historical narration on Emperor Qin's reign so we can better appreciate and understand those relics at the museum. The warriors are actually facing the east perimeter of the museum of which our early arrival privileged us to get a good front row of the viewing at the mezzanine. Celine briefed us on the formation of the statues' positions and their individual chambers and then we progresses towards the west exit by walking through the southern perimeter. Half way of the site is lesser of the statue formation but more visibly the continuoud excavation and plenty of newly unearthed statues in restoration process. Celine would pinpoint to us from time to time details that we should take notice of, like the underground entrance and some residue of dye painted on the statues and explained to us of its relevance. Not included in our package is the audio/visual presentation located at building three. Tickets are sold at RMB68.00, the presentation though is in Mandarin so the museum staffs allowed Celine to walked in with us and she would do a simultaneous translation of the presentation. After the Terracotta tour, Celine walked us to a pick up point of which a bus would transfer us to Emperor Qin's tomb. No way to really get to the actual tomb but rather a view of the hill believed to be where his body was laid. But this site offers another excavation showing statues of perhaps of ancient performers. The highlight though are two bronze charriots of which constructed in utmost details. Celine pinpointed to us those accessories of ancient siren and those angle turning umbrellas.

It was past lunch already when we get done with the exhibit. Celine and driver Jiang took us to a good local Biang Biang noodle eatery. The breaded chicken is also good, just perfectly marinated to the taste.

We then headed back to the city to the Small Goose Pagoda. There was a musical show of traditional instrument. After the show, we started strolling the pagoda's courtyard. Celine explained to us the significance of the bell and drum towers and the came about of this structure of which several characters of the past had their role of offers and blessings. Celine walked us to a certain location of the courtyard where you get the most beautiful photo spot of the pagoda.

We then proceeded to the city wall and take a quick photo of the gate and bell tower. Last part of the tour, we strolled the Muslim Pedestrain street and got a taste of Xi'an version's of stinky tofu and backyard snack food made from corn grits. It was already 5pm that we called it a day and we were driven back to our hotel.

I have been in several parts of China, but I think this one so far is most that I am impressed. Celine definitely made us appreciate the whole thing.

The itinerary was well designed to meet our needs by our travel consultant, Vera Yu. The hotel picks were all top notch & in best locations, very convenient for our free time in the evening to walk around the area. The tour guides & drivers provided were all very good as well, very punctual & knowleadgeable about the areas visited so the time was well spent. I especially like how well Vera coordinated the guides as we transferred to 4 different cities.
Very memorable trip indeed. Definitely worth the money

All of our guides and drivers were excellent. We enjoyed driving across Borneo with Syahfil and Limin. Syahfil was attentive to what we wanted to see and changed the itinerary accordingly. We could not ask for a better team to see us to Sepilok. In Sepilok we met Jassie, our driver and Vincent, our guide. They took us to the rehabilitation center and then onto The Sukau Rainforest Lodge, our favorite location. There Vincent continued to guide us along the river. He was an excellent spotter. From there we were driven over rough roads to the Borneo Rainforest Lodge. A beautiful lodge, owned by the government, located in the Danum Valley Conservation area. The lodge and food were great, the hikes were at times difficult and hot. The only thing I would do differently (it was my choice to have our itinerary this way) would be to only do 2 days in the Danum Valley and add a third night at Sakau. Travel China Guide was there from day one to day 10. They were perfect.

Without the help of travelChinaguide, our tour of China wouldn’t have been successful. We appreciated their help in booking the train tickets and setting up the one day tour of Beijing. The tour guide was amazing and quite knowledgeable.

Great service, everything was on time. We enjoyed every moment of this trip. Our guide Aygül showed us many details and had a great knowledge of history and culture.

We as a team of five spent two days with our travel guider Lily, she was so nice to organize the whole trip per our request, and very professional to introduce the whole journey and helped us know the city and Chinese history in a much better way. She's also very friend and patient, her recommendation of food are very good in terms of quality, price, service, environment etc. It is not an easy work to provide such a high quality service with the two days raining. Thanks a lot for her help to make this journey a wonderful one.

I give it a 5 out of 5. The Guides were all awesome and go the extra mile to make sure we were all set. And the drivers were awesome by ensuring we always had cold water ready when we where coming from activities.

The tour arrangements were excellent. The guides were all punctual and accommodating. They were always OK to change the itinerary if the plan did not suit us. I want to give our guides 5 stars for the work they did to make our trip great.

The meals were good and if we preferred to eat other meals than suggested that was an option for us. We took a lot of different modes of transportation, trains, cars, buses which suited our vacation location. We would have preferred to have received a message for pick up time through the hotel, rather than by email with regards to transport time to the airport as we did not have access to our email.

I would highly recommend this company for anybody's travels and plan to use the company for future trips.

I actually took the Harbin tour but was told that section wasn’t ready yet. I enjoyed my trip and tour of the city. Harbin in the winter was a lot different to the other cities I have visited while living in China. My tour guide, Echo, went above and beyond to make sure I got to see everything I wanted to and made my trip as enjoyable as possible. Would recommend visiting Harbin.

The tour was very well organised and we had enjoyable look at a wide variety of landscapes and history of the Vietnamese people. We would recommend the tour which Agate Travel (TravelChinaGuide) arranged for us.

Our tour guide was educated in history and English, and really knew a lot about the historical and cultural sightseeing hotspots in Xi'an. We visited the Terracotta Army, the Xi'an city walls, the Small Goose Pagoda, and the Muslim Market. It was very comfortable, we had a car to take us around, and we could never have seen so many thing in one day had we been on our own. Thanks!

Agate Travel organised for us a 10 day trip around Jordan and everything was perfectly planned. We visited Amman, Petra, Jerash, the Dead Sea, Aqaba, Wadi rum and all the activities they planned for us were very well organised. From the time we were picked up from the airport until our departure everything was well planned. Our travel agent, Emily, did a great job preparing a really good itinerary and she was always willing to answer all our questions. We had a wonderful day trip to Hangzhou. We came on a business trip to Shanghai for few months. After reading all the positive reviews, we booked a day trip to Hangzhou. We had very pleasant experience, even though traffic was very bad in Hangzhou on that particular day. Our guide ensured we did not miss anything in our itinerary. My personal favorite is West lake and tea plantations. Our guide "LEAF" is a very good organizer, super talkative, speaks really good English and knowledgeable about Hangzhou. She ensured we did not have any problems in our trip. I recommend trip and if you have an option, opt for guide "LEAF".

When planning our trip to Egypt we looked at tours from over a dozen companies. After talking to friends and doing our own research we had a list of what we wanted to see. Since most tour companies go to the same places the actual decision came down to a group size that would also give us quality time to spend with our guides. We did not want to drive around in a large bus with a group of 20 or more. The sites in Egypt are very crowded and we found being in a small group of two with a guide made it easier to avoid the groups. The experience we got with Agate Travel was invaluable as we had plenty of time with our guide to learn about the culture of Egypt and its people which added to the overall experience. Our three Egyptian guides had four-year degrees in Egyptology and could not have been more knowledgeable. There were lots of “moving parts” in the agency’s planning for this trip in terms of drop off, pick up, hotel, and cruise reservations and all went off without a hitch! That requires both coordination and great attention to detail! We only wish we’d known about Agate Travel years ago and plan to use them for future trips.

This was a great little tour the scenery was great the boat was great the people were fabulous and the guide Hang Do was really great he introduced us to some new experience’s tastes and a lot of history that this little country has been through in thousands of years. It’s definitely going to get us back again to see the central part of Vietnam.

We had a fantastic trip with TravelChinaGuide in India in February 2023. Our group of six visited Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. Our three guides were excellent, informative, polite, helpful and entertaining! Our driver Mr Singh was also a great guy, friendly, efficient, accommodating and he went out of his way to look after us. Our driver-guide Serge was very kind and always well prepared and managed our tour and all our wishes to our satisfacion, for example he always took care for us getting vegetarian food for the lunch stops and also for dinner at the hotels. He knew a lot about his country and tried to answer all our questions as best as he could. He was always very patient with us whenever we were late or wanted to make another photo stop. ;-) He managed all the bad roads very well and we never felt unsafe. The car was always very clean and well maintained. Our local guides for the tours were very nice and informative and we had a great time exploring all the nature and national parks and saw a lot of animals up close, it was more than we had expected.
