Iran is a vast country with rich historical and natural attractions. For first time travelers, any of the classic Iran tours should cover cities of Tehran, Isfahan, Yazd and Shiraz. Yes, almost all foreign visitors are required to obtain a visa to enter Iran. For a tourist visa, you can handle it through travel agencies in Iran. Another kind of visa is the Airport Visa, some nationalities are allowed to get a 2-week tourist visa upon arrival in the main airports of Tehran, Mashhad, Shiraz, Tabriz and Isfahan.

You should apply for an Iranian Tourist Visa through your travel agency. If you book one of our Iran vacation packages, we will assist you to handle the visa. Generally speaking, there are three steps to get it.

Step 1: Prepare the required documents as follows:

• A visa authorization form.
• A copy of your passport with at least six months of validity.
• A color picture of you in size of 4 cm X 6 cm.
• A detailed resume is also required for American, Canadian and British citizens.

Sept 2: Send the documents to your travel agency and wait for your Visa Authorization Code. Your agency will prepare other documents along with yours to submit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

If everything is perfect, you will get the code within 2 weeks and this process can take up to 45 or more working days for American, Canadian and British.

Sep 3: Obtain your Iranian Tourist Visa Sticker. When you receive your Visa Authorization Code, you should apply for your visa sticker in the nominated Iranian Embassy.

The weather in Iran can be divided into four seasons. Spring starts from March to late May, summer starts from June to August, autumn starts from September to November and winter starts from December to February. For the first time visitors, we suggest you plan your Iran tour packages in spring and autumn. Moreover, Nowruz (Iranian New Year) starts on Mar 21st and lasts about two weeks, you may consider to avoid this period since it means crowded people, rising price and hustle visits.

Credit Card: Due to the financial sanction, credit cards cannot be used in Iran, so travelers need to bring cash there.

Internet Access: You can get access to Wi-Fi in hotels, Cafés and most restaurants. You can also buy a local SIM card to use your mobile, the 3G internet is spotty sometimes but it will work.

Alcohol: Drinking alcohol is not permitted in Iran, but the alcohol free beer is available.

Dress Code: Men should wear shirts (short or long sleeved) and long trousers. Shorts are NOT OK. The basic rule for female travelers is what you wear on your upper body should be long enough to reach your knees, and your arms should be covered down to the forearms. Besides, you are required to wear a headscarf all the time in public.
