On July 26, 2023, 15-day visa-free travel to China for Singapore passport holders will be activated, announced by China Embassy in Singapore on July 23, 2023, which has been suspended after the outbreak of covid-19. This is applicable for those coming to China to do business, visit scenic spots, reunite with families or relatives, or connect flights.

China declared to increase the visa fee to China from the original USD 140 to USD 185 for US citizens since May 30, 2023. This fee increase will not include the J1/ J2 visa. At present, visa applications to China in the US are in very great demand and travelers are suggested to make a visa application appointment at least 3 months in advance for a smooth journey.

Since April 29, 2023, China will remove the PCR tests entry requirement and travelers only need to offer a negative self-testing antigen results within 48 hours. In addition, airlines will not check PCR tests or antigen results anymore. International travelers only need to declare it to China customs by filling out a form on the official web page or China Customs’ app.

Since March 15, 2023, all types of China visas will be available, including tourist visas. Those planning to visit China can start to take actions. The 5-year and 10-year visas being suspended during the covid will be activated, too; as long as they are within the validity period, holders can use them to enter China again.

After degrading the Covid-19, China will reopen its borders since January 8, 2023. Those planning to travel to China to work, study, visit relatives, reunite with families, and attend conferences or fairs can apply for a visa and then come. Those coming here for tourism need to wait for some time as tourist visa is not available yet. 48 hours before departure, please have a nucleic acid test. On arrival, quarantine is not required anymore.

According to a notice issued by the Tian'anmen Area Administrative Committee, the Tian’anmen Square in Beijing will be closed from June 23rd to July 1st, 2021. The surrounding places are also closed, including the Forbidden City, Tian’anmen Tower, Great Hall of the People, Memorial Hall of Chairman Mao, Monument to the People's Heroes, and National Museum of China.

Since May 10th, 2021, foreigners in China can realize their dream of visiting Tibet. After being closed for more than a year, Tibet has finally reopened to foreigners, including those currently living in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. Book a tour through a local travel agent and apply for a Tibet Travel Permit to start your trip. Remember to prepare the Chinese employment certificate and the nucleic acid test proof. They are must documents during the pandemic.

On March 8, 2021, China officially launched the Chinese Version of "International Travel Health Certificate" on the mini program of China’s mainstream social media WeChat. It is applicable to Chinese citizens who want to go abroad. Apart from China, other countries are attempting to introduce Covid Vaccine Passports to facilitate international travelers.

As spring is approaching in March, the major parts of China now get warmer and warmer, welcoming the blooming spring flowers. This year, with the elimination of domestic medium and high-risk Covid-19 areas, tourists can go for spring outing and appreciate flowers safely, which in turn causes a boom in flower tours.
